We were desperately sad to hear the news that Mr Alan Rumbold, our longstanding and much loved member of the Maintenance and Grounds team, sadly passed away early on Saturday 19th January, having fought his battle with cancer for some years.  Alan started at MHS in 2006 and was a true ‘Jack of all trades, and master of them all’ who turned his hand to most things around the school, from electrics, to rolling the pitches, to driving the minibus for many years - but his favourite we think was accompanying the Pre-Prep and Nursery children on their outings, with the Nursery outings being a firm favourite! He also had a special job around Christmas time (we can’t reveal what that was!) but he did it with his usual kindness and good humour.  Alan will be very much missed by everyone at MHS, a true gentleman and extremely popular man with the children, parents and staff.

Our very best wishes go to his family and friends at this sad time.
